The Ridgefield Basketball Association is proud to offer two types of college scholarships to graduating RHS Seniors each spring
Our RBA Leadership Award is typically given to four graduating RHS Seniors
The Billy Fuess Memorial Scholarship is an award that will be granted to one graduating RHS Senior
Both types of scholarships are one-time awards of $1,000 to each recipient
Our RBA Scholarship Committee administers both of these college scholarships each year and coordinates our efforts with the RHS Guidance Counseling Center. Our RBA scholarship recipients will be announced during Senior Awards Night.

RBA Leadership Award
The Ridgefield Basketball Association is pleased to offer our annual RBA Leadership Award to graduating, college-bound RHS seniors that have demonstrated (a) strong leadership skills, (b) a commitment of support toward and participation in our local basketball community, and (c) academic achievement.

Billy Fuess Memorial Scholarship
The Billy Fuess Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2013 to honor and celebrate the life of a young man who died all too soon. On behalf of the Fuess family, the Ridgefield Basketball Association is pleased to offer the Billy Fuess Memorial Scholarship to one graduating RHS senior that has demonstrated leadership of and love for our RBA House basketball league.
The goal of this award is to lend a helping hand to the academic career of an RHS student who shares the same love for recreational sports with friends that Billy demonstrated during his own lifetime: a long-time RBA House player who always cared about his teammates and thrived on the league's energy; an RBA and soccer referee that always took a moment to mentor young players while making his calls; a student that cherished every opportunity to enjoy all forms of outdoor sports with his buddies; a young man that relished diverse extracurricular activities, particularly when they involved his dog, Carly.
Based on the student's leadership of and love for our RBA House basketball league, that graduating RHS senior will receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship to assist them in realizing their educational goals. The hope and vision of the Fuess family are that the recipient of this honor will continually take the message of Billy's passion for recreational sports to heart in their own future endeavors.
