Biddy Ball

Biddy Ball meets once a week on Saturdays from mid-November through mid-March. There are 8 Biddy Ball sessions per week in order to accommodate the hundreds of players from the Kindergarten through 2nd grades. At this level, FUN-damentals are heavily stressed, while pick-up scrimmages cap each session.

  • Our aim is to teach players some basic skills, rules and jargon and follow-up immediately with application exercises within the context of a team in game situations.
  • Biddy Ball sessions meet one time each week on Saturday's for 12-13 weeks.
  • See our Biddy Ball web pages for more specific information.

The House Program

The House program hosts the largest number of players, with 500-600 boys and girls between grades 3 and 8.

  • We strive to organize teams of no more than 8 players and are in the gym an average of 3 to 4 hours each week. Players are guaranteed to play one half or more of each game.
  • The Boys' House and Girls' House Programs are each divided into divisions by grades with each team playing about 14 games within in its own division.
  • The House season culminates on Super Sunday, where after two weeks of playoffs, the best two teams from each division face off in the center of town at Yanity Gymnasium for the Championship Games.
  • See our House Program web pages for more specific information.

The High School Program

One of the more unique characteristics of our league is the Boys High School program.

  • In this group, the players themselves organize the league, choose the teams, and coach themselves. The best teams meet for one last game to determine and crown their Champion.
  • Enrollment has reached over 200 players for the winter session, and nearly 100 for the fall session (Fall Ball), and provides for an exceptionally positive competitive and social experience for town teenagers.

There is also a Girls High School winter Program - The WRBA!

  • Much like the Boys HS program, the players themselves organize the league, choose the teams and the format, and coach themselves.
  • Games are played once a week.

The Travel Program

The Travel Program is composed of 8 teams for our premier players between the 5th and 8th grades.

  • Travel Teams meet a minimum of 4 times per week and play a season of 25-40 games, plus tournaments outside the community.
  • There are 4 Girls' and 4 Boys' Travel teams, organized by grade; one for each of the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
  • The RBA is a member of the Fairfield County Basketball League (FCBL) and participates in their end of the year playoffs.
  • Making the cut on a Travel team requires a great deal of commitment from players and parents. By nature and design, this environment is a highly competitive one.
